Everyone loves to curl up with a good book.  Something to pick up and put down whenever you have a spare moment, or when there is nothing much on TV, or to help you drift off into the Land of Nod.

‘Bookmark’ was set up in 2013, as part of the Community Hub scheme in Cold Kirby Village Hall and has been going strong ever since.

Originally it was meant to be a small library with books being donated by local people for local people but it has grown into more than that.  There is also a three month cycle of new books on loan from North Yorkshire County Library Service and, wherever possible, their Librarian does her best to send authors/genres to order.  There are CD’s and DVD’s to borrow with no restriction on how many or for how long on anything.  Just as important are the teas, coffees, cakes and a good old chats everyone enjoys on their visits to Bookmark.

There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome – young, old, children, babies; we’ve even had dogs visit (see our latest bookmark) and the occasional cat, although not at the same time!

We meet every other Wednesday, 2 – 4pm –  9th and 23rd August, 6th and 20th September, 4th and 18th October.

For more information please contact us via the website or give Barbara Newman a call on 07814 938854.
